Executive Director, Tulsa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Although he has only been Executive Director of the Tulsa Hispanic Chamber for nine months, Francisco Trevino is certainly no stranger on the Tulsa business and community action scenes.
Truly a leader of our rapidly expanding city, Trevino has enjoyed many great successes in his numerous business ventures. But, more importantly and dearer to his heart, he also continues to experience great joys from his immense contributions to the happiness and wellbeing of his neighbors in need. One of the many organizations blessed with his devoted attention is Community Health Connection, a nonprofit health clinic whose mission is to treat low-income and uninsured Tulsans seeking minor medical services. The necessity and success of this noble community action group has lead to their recent expansion project seeking to build a new 15,000 sq foot facility on the corner of 3rd & South Lewis. The expansion is slated to open in 2008 and, without the involvement of community-conscious hearts like that of Francisco Trevino, it would certainly not be possible.
When not valiantly assisting ill and injured Tulsans, Trevino actively pursues and supports his love of the arts in as many forms as possible. In addition to his passion for photography, he avidly entertains his affection for journalism as a contributing writer for his church newspaper, as well as for Hispano de Tulsa. Dedicated to the advancement of our indispensible Hispanic community, Hispano de Tulsa champions all efforts of Hispanics to remain a strong, lasting and influential asset to the Tulsa economy. Furthermore, when feeling the need to escape from the affairs of his insurmountable business interests, Trevino also enjoys the wonderful and varied experience of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, to which he is also a thankful contributor.
In addition to these many gracious and appreciated philanthropic involvements, Trevino’s influence on the Tulsa business world is most certainly not to be overlooked or second-guessed. High points to his professional credit include the 1995 purchase of his beloved Hispano de Tulsa, the founding of the Greater Tulsa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 1999, as well as the 1998 revival of Tulsa’s longest-running festival dedicated to the celebration of Hispanic culture—Festival Hispano. This year’s festival, organized by the Tulsa Hispanic Chamber and chaired by Trevino, will be held downtown at William Center Greens.
In light of his relentless community actions and unwavering business accomplishments, one may easily beg the question, “How does he remedy the stress of it all?” And, to this, the answer is as simple as his drive is infinite: all he needs to unwind is “music and a good documentary.”
With a career as noteworthy as his, the Tulsa area can undoubtedly look forward to many more exciting years of Francisco Trevino’s far-reaching influence on our wonderful community.
