Client Advisor-Investment Specialist, Arvest Bank
As an Investment Specialist for Arvest Asset Management, Marquay Baul has many opportunities to utilize his skills in a variety of specialized financial services. However, his current success at one of the Midwest’s largest financial institutions can be attributed largely to the basic, yet solid principles on which he builds his personal life and professional career.
Baul began his time with Arvest during his junior year at Oral Roberts University when he was first hired as a Financial Sales Representative. After only two years of service, he was then promoted to Assistant Branch Manager and, through hard work, diligence, and mentorship, quickly rose within the company as one of the top sales performers in his department. Finally, Baul accepted the position of Branch Manager in further preparation for his current responsibilities of working with clients regarding Wealth Management Planning, retirement planning, asset allocation, estate and inter-generational transition planning as well as Insurance/Risk Management for individuals, their families, and their businesses and investment review and analysis. Indeed his comprehensive background in the world of finance has resulted in numerous triumphs throughout his career. However, the most rewarding of all his accomplishments have been found in mentoring children and assisting others in achieving their own life goals. Furthermore, his impressive career in the Tulsa area has been fortified by his tireless contribution to a variety of civic organizations as well his underlying foundation of faith, family and friends.
Taking all of this into consideration, Baul attributes every one of his successes to the life-long guidance and influence of his loving father, who continues to encourage him with all the attention, patience, development and friendship any person could ever receive from a mentor. A wonderful counselor and coach, Baul’s father has not only passed on to him valuable lessons on how to look at life, but also the skills and determination needed to effectively navigate its ever-present twists and turns. Paying forward his father’s far-reaching influence on how to live a truly successful life, Baul remains active in a remarkable number of civic entities including the Tulsa Dream Center and Leadership Tulsa in addition to serving on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Crime Commission and co-founding V.I.P. (Vision In Progress, Inc.), a local youth mentoring organization—to name a very select few.
With such a full schedule, attempting to find a healthy balance between work, family, friends and volunteering always presents a challenge. However, as with many of life’s dilemmas, the simple act of facing the challenge has in turn allowed Baul to further develop the skills needed to surmount that which would otherwise impede him.
After all, in the words of Marquay Baul in regards to overcoming obstacles, “You can’t control the immediate outcome, but you can control the input, which determines the inevitable outcome.”
